he 2021 Ram TRX is soon to be launching and it comes with a few new features. The first of these new features is the Hellcat engine, making the Ram TRX the only pickup truck to crack the 700 hp barrier and become the first true competitor to the Ford F-150 Raptor. Another new feature that comes with the pickup, is the “Know & Go” mobile Augmented Reality app which helps owners get acquainted with their new pickup without having to dig through the owner’s manual.

The “Know & Go” Augmented Reality app lets owners of the new 2021 Ram TRX learn about their vehicle's new features through the innovative powers of Augmented Reality by hovering their smartphone cameras over different parts of the vehicle, where information will be displayed. By hovering the camera over the steering wheel will show owners how to use the steering wheel controls or paddle shifters, while pointing at the dashboard will show infotainment functionality, acting as an owner’s manual for the modern age.

The “Know & Go” app will also feature both informational readings and how-to videos explaining the features owners click on. The app will be regularly updated with additional information as well as sending push notifications to encourage owners to check out features that haven’t been seen yet.

As well as the Augmented Reality functionality, the app also features a specific vehicle manual built in, using graphics and videos to bring the manual up to date. Owners will be able to look up a specific function or vehicle information within the app.

The concept for the “Know & Go” app was introduced at the first ever FCA Pitch Night, which allows employees to create ideas focused on connectivity and infotainment. Out of over 500 concepts pitched, the “Know & Go” won the competition and went from pitch to a fully developed app in just three months to coincide with the release of the 2021 Ram TRX.

The 2021 Ram TRX is the first vehicle to use the “Know & Go” app, however, it will become available on other FCA vehicles in the future.
