ugmented Reality gaming company Krikey, has recently launched a new AR game in India, named, YAATRA, in collaboration with Jio. Jio led the Series A funding round, taking the total raised by Krikey to $22 Million.
When discussing the launch of YAATR , Jhanvi and Ketaki Shriram, Krikey Founders stated:
“Our vision with Krikey is to bring together inspiration and reality in an immersive way. With augmented reality, we are able to bring fantasy worlds into your home, straight through the window of your mobile phone.”
The YAATRA game utilises the smartphone camera, players can be a part of the action-adventure story and join the quest to defeat the army of monsters. Armed with a bow and arrow, fire and lightning bolts as well as chakra, players can battle through the different levels of combat and challenging puzzle games. One the player has successfully completed all the levels, they can share a personalised video with their friends.
A digital training ground has been made so that players are able to perfect their bow and arrow skills before taking on the monster army. Video feeds are also available so players can watch gameplay videos posted by other players.
Director of Jio, Akash Ambani commented:
