.A. Dodgers fans all over the globe celebrated the team’s first World Series since 1988 after beating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 to secure a 4-2 win in the best-of-seven championship.

The wait is finally over, the L.A. Dodgers have won the first World Series in 32 years and claimed their long-awaited crown and completed their domination of the shortest, strangest season in Major League Baseball history.

It was a 2020 season of unprecedented challenges for all involved, right up until its final game, when the World Series champs' starting third baseman, Justin Turner, was pulled prior to the eighth inning after receiving the results of a positive COVID-19 test midgame.

In front of an intentionally limited number of attendees at Globe Life Field, Dodgers’ Manager Dave Roberts stated:

"This is our year, We said it. This is our year. Everyone in this ballpark wearing Dodger blue, everyone all over the world wearing Dodger blue, never wavered. This is our year."

Fans from around the world took to social media to join in the celebrations as well as the team’s sponsors, including Golden Road Brewing, an Anheuser-Busch InBev brand.

Golden Road Brewing, joined forces with the L.A. Dodgers to bring fans the L.A. Dodgers Blonde Ale, a deliciously clean, crisp and smooth Blonde Ale that can be enjoyed by fans both in the stadium and out.

For those who weren’t able to attend the game, Golden Road Brewing wanted to bring the celebrations to their fans, there’s no better pairing than baseball and beer so Golden Road Brewing created a Web-based Augmented Reality face filter for fans to share on social media.

Five Smartphones LA Dodgers

The face filter opens with a “Raise A Can To The Champs” page, which features the Dodgers Blonde Ale. The face filter puts a L.A. Dodgers cap on the user and prompts them to “Tap To Celebrate!” Once tapped, a can of Dodgers Blonde Ale appears, opens and sprays beer. The crowd cheers and confetti in the shape of baseballs, the Dodgers logo and beer cans fall around the user.

Fans can click to take a selfie to share on their social media platforms. The filter also features a “Redeem Rebate” button which takes users to an interactive Dodgers blue map, which directs users to the nearest bar or store that sells Dodgers Blonde Ale. To redeem a rebate, the link takes users to another site, mybeerrebate.com, to receive the promotional deal, where fans get a $7 rebate on a 15 pack of beer.

The engaging experience was developed by Aircards, the Web AR Agency. Aircards are one of the market-leading providers of Web-based Augmented Reality experiences and one of the few select 8th Wall Premier Partners. Their impressive work includes high-profile launches with Kinder, Unilever, Dell Technologies, AB InBev and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
