The Envision TV AR app as Sony have named it, uses augmented reality to demonstrate how a Sony TV set will look in your home. To use the app (compatible for Android phones running Oreo or later and iPhone 6 and above for iOS), allows the user to select the TV model and size and place it on a virtual target to showcase the TV and how well that chosen model fits in with the wall or on a stand.
Sony’s hopes for the app is to sell you on the Tv’s themselves, by using the app you’re more likely to pass on competitors sets when you’re unsure about their sizing. The app could help confirm your decision if you’ve already chosen a Sony set, or on the other hand, you could use the Envision TV AR app as a rough estimate for sizes from competitor TV companies.
However you use it, you won’t have to break out the measuring tape.
