ue to the COVID-19 pandemic, the New York Comic Con has gone virtual for their 2020 event. The exclusive merchandise that is created for the events will still be on offer and this year’s merch is very cool.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Entertainment, some of the 2020 Comic Con merchandise was shared in an exclusive sneak peek, including a trio of Star Wars themed Funko Pop! bobbleheads, which featured an AR reveal of the special-edition ‘The Child’ and Luke Skywalker.
Officially named, The Child With Pendant, this collectible features the beloved character, better known as “Baby Yoda,” from Disney+’s The Mandalorian, modelling a necklace bearing the skull of the legendary Mythosaur. The adorable 3.25-inch figure figure will be available from Funko and Amazon in October while supplies last.
Another of the limited-edition releases for New York Comic Con features a twin-pack of Star Wars characters, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. The siblings are depicted in their Jedi-training gear, complete with lightsabers, from the flashback scene in The Rise of Skywalker. The pair of 4-inch figures will be available exclusively on the Funko Shop in October.
But before the Funko Pop! Bobbleheads are ready to sell in October, collectors can add the characters to their collection virtually through the AR tool. Users can scan the QR code, follow the instructions and place the virtual 3D model of the bobblehead on any flat surface to see the detailed augmented replica of the famous toy.
