The Thomas & Friends and Barbie books are joining Bookful’s expanding library of top publishers and brands, including DK, Charlesbridge and Penguin Random House. Bookful’s app features hundreds of books and educational games and is the world’s largest AR/3D library.

Sunday: Siemens Energy Utilises Augmented Reality Platform For Its Connected Worker Solutions
Leaders in energy infrastructure, Siemens Energy, has partnered with Librestream, provider of augmented reality and remote collaboration solutions to utilise their Onsight Augmented Reality platform for its Connected Worker solutions.
The new partnership sees Siemens Energy deploying the Connected Worker solution across all of its field service workers and external contractors, as well as enabling Siemens Energy to directly offer Connected Worker solutions to its vast customer base.

Monday: EE Launches Match Day Experience Featuring Augmented Reality In The BT Sport App
EE has announced the launch of Match Day Experience, a new Augmented Reality platform which offers viewers a virtual in stadium experience through the BT Sport app.
EE and BT Sport, owned by giants of telecom BT, are working collectively to utilise 5G technology to bring a range of enhanced experiences, including a Watch Together feature which allows sports fans to watch live matches with friends and family, similar to Disney Plus’s GroupWatch and Netflix Party, which have grown in popularity during lockdown.
Most of the new features have been developed to accommodate the fact that most games are being played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to give the fans an experience similar to that of being in the grounds. The effects of Covid-19 had made Watch Together a priority, however, BT Sport had been working on the technology for almost three years.

Tuesday: 8Talks: Teleporting Consumers - WebAR Portals As A Tool For Brand Engagement

Wednesday: Snapchat Receives 249 Million Daily Users Thanks To Augmented Reality Filters
Snap Inc. has seen an influx of users thanks to the growing popularity of Augmented Reality filters and video content. Snap’s shares surged in after-hours trade in New York, after the company exceeded analyst expectations for the third quarter, as daily users of the Snapchat app continued to rise with a growing demand for its Augmented Reality filters and streamed content.
By the end of September Snapchat’s daily active users were up 4% on the second quarter and 18% higher than a year ago with Snapchat currently receiving 249 million daily active users, bypassing Twitter’s 186 million and TikTok 100 million daily users, however, Instagram still leads the race with 500 million daily active users.

Thursday: Sony To Build The Display For Apple's AR/VR Headset And Apple Glasses
A recent article by the Japanese newspaper Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, claims that Apple is working with Sony on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology that would be used in its reported AR headset. It is rumoured that the headset could be announced as early as 2021, the article claims.
Apple blog, Macotakara covered the report, stating that if Sony does supply the AR and VR technology it could be a "pillar of Sony's earnings" over the coming years.

Friday: Adobe Announces Aero 2.0 With Enhanced Augmented Reality Features
Adobe has announced this week the recent upgrade Aero 2.0, as well as a new desktop version of the application that is now entering public beta. In addition to the desktop beta, there has been an abundance of new features in the Adobe Aero app which were developed to amplify and evolve what creators are able to design and share in Augmented Reality.
