Saturday: Goo Goo Dolls Announce The Launch Of “It’s Christmas All Over” An Augmented Reality Movie Musical
The Goo Goo Dolls have announced more details of their upcoming Augmented Reality movie musical “It’s Christmas All Over” which shares the name of their holiday album and the source of their inspiration.
In the movie, the Goo Goo Dolls travel through the past, present and future, searching for the lost Spirit of Christmas. On their search, the band travel through city streets, subways and land themselves on the set of The Ed Sullivan Show, where they perform classic Christmas songs as well as tracks from their holiday album. The message of the movie is that even though we're all being kept apart by our current situation, we're all unified by the true meaning of Christmas.

Sunday: Walk With Dinosaurs With Nat Geo’s Augmented Reality Instagram Filter
National Geographic has developed a new Augmented Reality experience on Instagram, which allows users to place real life sized dinosaurs in their own home.
Inspired by the National Geographic magazine’s ‘Reimagining Dinosaurs’ cover story, three Augmented Reality experiences were created with interesting facts about the beasts. First the Spinosaurus and how they lived largely underwater, how the Deinonychus raised eggs like modern-day birds and how the winged Yi qi could glide.
Users are also able to select the selfie mode and share snaps and videos of themselves with the dinosaurs.
The Augmented Reality experience was developed on Instagram’s Spark AR platform, users of Instagram do not have to be following the @natgeo page to interact with the Augmented Reality dinosaurs.

Monday: Preloaded Awarded £300,000 Contract From Ordnance Survey For The Development Of Augmented Reality Games
Great Britain’s national mapping agency, Ordnance Survey, has announced that it will be awarding Preloaded, a London based gaming studio, a £300,000 contract for the development for a variety of geolocated challenges, trails and special events, which utilise Augmented Reality technology to encourage the public to spend more time outside exploring.
Ordnance Survey’s ‘GetOutside’ campaign aims to get everyone outdoors, and as part of the campaign the organisation has contracted Preloaded to create Augmented Reality games, intended to help people discover the best that being outdoors in Britain has to offer, as well as the benefits that outdoor activity can bring.

Tuesday: UCCA Unveil Augmented Reality Art Exhibition Featuring KAWS, Olafur And More
The UCCA Centre For Contemporary Art, based in Chaoyang China, has unveiled an innovative art exhibition, dedicated to Augmented Reality, which has been called “Mirage: Contemporary Art in Augmented Reality.”
The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with Acute Art and features works that can be seen through the Acute Art app in locations around the museum, alongside the Stey-798 apartment community situated outside 798 Art District’s western entrance. There are several artists taking part in the exhibition, including KAWS, Nina Chanel Abney, Olafur Eliasson, Darren Bader, Alicja Kwade and Cao Fei.

Wednesday: Audi Utilising Augmented Reality To Increase Efficiency In Logistics Planning
Premium car makers, Audi utilise Augmented Reality to arrange complex logistics processes by showcasing digital presentations in 3D holograms which are displayed in their actual environment, assisting the planners to effectively evaluate the process.
Consequently, prototypes of machinery and equipment are no longer necessary, saving cost and helping the environment.

Friday: Gucci Beauty Launches Augmented Reality Portal Game On Snapchat
Gucci Beauty has developed the first Snapchat Portal AR Lens, the immersive Augmented Reality experience launched last Sunday as part of the campaign to promote the company’s Bloom fragrance range in the United States.
The Augmented Reality portal lens game allows users in the U.S. to walk into the portal and be transported into the GucciBloom Garden of Dreams, virtual environment. Snapchat users can navigate through the lush green labyrinth, searching for the hidden bottles of all five Bloom fragrances, including the newest, Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori as they listen to Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You”.
The portal features flowing fountains and bright red roses to enrich the experience, when Snapchatters find the hidden perfumes, a shower of rose petals celebrates the win. There are hidden extras, as well as a redirect to the Gucci Bloom landing page.
