ybri, is a new Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality app which allows users to create their own completely custom 3D AI-driven virtual companion, just like in the Blade Runner 2049 movie, Joi character.
The new application brings mixed reality to everyone, users can create a family member, a friend and even a romantic partner. The app comes with 6 basic models (3 women and 3 men) that have been developed using motion capture technology.
The basic models can be customised with their own personal details, including body shape and size, hairstyle and colour, clothing, even the voice can be personalised. They also have their own personalities, [nofollow]Hybri states: “depending on your model’s configuration, they will miss you or argue with you. You can chat with them all day or even give them orders; the choice is yours.”
The company has developed a feature which allows the user to customise their model's face perfectly with real people, by uploading a photo from your media library and selecting a similar 3D hairstyle. This works using a photoscan function technology which allows for a standard 2D front view portrait to be turned into a realistic 3D avatar.
The creators of Hybri aim to make the app available to everyone, it is currently being built for IOS and Android smartphone devices. The company is also in the process of developing their own brand of mixed reality headsets that the app will be available for. To date, users have the option of placing their smartphones inside a standard VR headset or Google Cardboard and experiencing it in virtual reality. There are 40 different environments of virtual reality. Users can live with their model in a futuristic room, modern living room or romantic places.
For those wanting to try the app, unfortunately, it is not available to date, however the company will be launching a Kickstarter soon. For now, there is a sign up and pre-order option on the website where you will be given 50% off when the campaign does officially launch. This means $49 for the app, $99 for the Hybri AR T-shirt, and $199 for the Hybri headset.
