To do this, more and more businesses are experimenting with AR and the global virtual events market size is predicted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.2% from 2020 to 2027. As the benefits become clearer, industry voices are taking note and looking at how AR is opening up the world.

Sunday: New 5G-Powered Augmented Reality Tours Of The Changdeokgung Palace

World Cultural Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace in South Korea has installed 5G to power the all new AR tours for visitors. The AR project aims to increase the accessibility to cultural heritage, and now added AR offers a unique route for wheelchair users or families with strollers. Additionally due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cultural Heritage Administration plans to launch Changdeok ARirang at Home, an experience which provides virtual tours of the palace through AR.

Wednesday: Nreal Augmented Reality Glasses Are Shipping In Korea This Month

Nreal, a China based company at the forefront of actively developing user-friendly mixed reality wearables since 2017, announced their latest Nreal Light mixed reality glasses, also known as the U+ Real Glass, are due to be shipped to Korea this month alongside the newly announced Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20, with preorders open on the 11th August and the mixed reality glasses will be available in store from the 21st August.
